Antirrhinum, commonly known as snapdragon, is a classic garden favourite named for its unique flowers that resemble a dragon's mouth which "snaps" open when squeezed. While often grown as annuals for their prolific summer to autumn blooms, they are technically short-lived perennials in milder climates, sometimes returning for a few years or self-seeding.
